Made my own almond butter because why not? SO easy and no added weird ingredients that you can't even pronounce. All you need is a really good blender/food processor and you are set to go! Hot take: almond butter>peanut butter
Ingredients:
- 3 cups almonds
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp honey (replace with maple syrup to make vegan)
First, preheat the oven 350. Lay almonds on a baking sheet and toast them for 10 minutes. After toasting them, allow them to cool until they are warm. After allowing them to cool down for a little bit, move them to a blender or food processor. Blend the almonds until creamy; you are going to have to stop and using a spoon/spatula scrape down the sides and continue to blend. Be patient!! It takes some time for them to turn creamy. Add the salt and honey and blend a little bit more. You can also add in cinnamon or vanilla extract if you are looking for something sweeter. Voila!! Healthy almond butter. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
