homemade tortilla chips!

this week at Le Cordon Bleu we had a free interpretation dish! we were given a list of ingredients and had to come up with our own dish 👩‍🍳 I made my own tortilla chips using masa harina & layered with guacamole, shredded lettuce, and a beet salad to add that sweetness. delishhhh 🤍

homemade tortilla chips:

2 cups masa harina

1 1/4 cups water

salt

paprika

olive oil

In a bowl, combine masa harina with water and salt until a dough is formed. The texture should not be very dry, if so add a little water at a time. Divide into 60 g balls. Line a tortilla press with baking paper (you can also use the bottom of two pans to flatten the balls rather than a tortilla press). Flatten each tortilla and cook on a pan with a little bit of oil for a minute on each side. Once your tortillas are cooked, cut in 8 pieces and fry in oil until crunchy. You can also bake/airfry them at 400 for about 10 min, just make sure to brush them with oil beforehand. Once crunchy, sprinkle paprika and salt on them and voila!! 🌮
